An Offer From a Gentleman is the third book in the Bridgertons series. It is a literary romance novel written by Julia Quinn. Quinn is a world-renowned author who has appeared 19 times on the New York Times bestseller. If you want to follow more of the author, check out The Duke and I. Consequently, consider The Viscount Who Loved Me which is the second book of this series.
Rosalyn Landor’s narration goes well with the story of the novel. Both the narration and the storyline add levels to the enjoyment of the novel.
If you are familiar with Rosalyn, you know the level of consistency to expect.
Sophie Beckett never imagined she would be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s ball. She has no idea that Prince Charming would be waiting for her over there. She is the daughter of an earl but has been reduced to the role of a servant because of her scornful stepmother. However, when she finds herself in the arms of the strong and devilishly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows that when the clock strikes twelve, the magic will be all over.
Ever since that night, Benedict cannot drive the woman out of his mind. Who even was that woman? A radiant silver vision has blinded him to any other woman – except the oddly familiar housemaid he feels compelled to rescue. He has to find the woman that night, but the housemaid is making him weak.
The story seems a little bit over-the-top, especially with the Cinderella storyline theme. It goes on for too long to materialize in front of the listener. Also, this is not one of the best books of the series.
